Bird of Prey Handling Experiences
Book Now via our Experiences Calendar
Half Day ‘Gauntlet‘ – £82.50pp

Our ‘Gauntlet’ falconry experiences are two to two and a half hours and are our most popular range. The word ‘Gauntlet’, of course, referring to the gloves that falconers wear to handle the birds when they land on their hand. But did you know there are usually different lengths for different birds? A falcon glove tends to cover the hand and the wrist, whilst hawking gloves are usually longer. And whilst it is obviously there to protect you from those beaks and claws, it also serves as a perch.
Handle and fly a selection of birds of prey* and learn about them and their natural behaviours and habitats under the direction of our experienced falconers.
You may bring up to two Spectators per booking – £20pp / £14.50pp (advance ticket purchased at the same time as booking).
If you want to bring more than two spectators for your booking, please arrange this with us in advance.
One Hour ‘Rangle‘ – £42.50pp

The ‘Rangle’ (which refers to the teeny stones fed to birds of prey to aid digestion) is perfect for all ages from 8 upwards, as it gives you an insight into the world of birds, with plenty of time to meet and fly several species too within your one-hour session.
Full Day ‘Yarak‘ – £142.50pp

A bird ‘in yarak’ means they are in peak condition both physically and mentally, making it a formidable hunter. The day gives you the most in-depth look at the work of a falconer on a day to day basis.
Our ‘Yarak’ falconry experiences are a full day of hands-on and up-close demonstrations from the professionals, with a break for a light lunch. Spectators must be pre-booked and you may bring up to two per booking.
