Spring Hawk Walk from Hawk on the Wild Side

An Ideal Family Day Out!

Treat your family to a fun day out with Hawk on the Wild Side. Our friendly and experienced falconers will introduce your family to a selection of hawks, owls, eagles, vultures and falcons.

We will then take a leisurely stroll with our hawks following on and flying from tree to tree and tree to glove. This gives you a unique opportunity to see the hawks acting as they would in the wild and to observe their opportunistic behaviour. Adults and older children (11+) will get the opportunity to carry the hawks, send them flying and call them back to their gloved hand under the close supervision of our expert falconers.

For the bluebell hawk walk (only available in April / May) we will introduce you to hawks only. Easter-Egg Hunt and Family Falconry Experience - Half Term Activities

Definitely an Easter-Egg Hunt with a difference! Learn the techniques for tracking a missing bird of prey and put what you have learnt to use in your search for the answers to our quiz.

Treat your family to a fun day out with Hawk on the Wild Side. Our friendly and experienced falconers will introduce you to a selection of hawks, owls, eagles, vultures and falcons and explain about the special adaptations of each. You will see close-up expert demonstrations and learn about the art of falconry and its heritage.

You will learn about the techniques of falconry and how to safely handle a bird of prey. Under the close supervision of our friendly falconers you can experience hands-on the thrill of flying a bird of prey to and from your gauntlet!

We finish with an Easter-egg hunt and every child will receive a chocolate Easter-egg.
